Formed in 2015, Tautumeitas are an all-female ethno-folk band bringing the ethereal vibes to Basel in 2025. Consisting of Laura, Gabriela, Annemarija, Kate and sisters Asnate and Aurelija, the band have a distinctive sound, combining both the modern and the futuristic through what the band commonly describe as fairy vibes. Tautumeitas are no strangers to a stage, having performed at festivals such as Eurosonic in The Netherlands, Imaterial in Portugal and the renowned Glastonbury in the UK.

Following on from a monumental qualification last year, the country’s first qualification since 2016, Tautumeitas will be hoping to continue Latvia’s upwards trajectory in the contest and extend their qualification streak. After winning Supernova, Latvia’s national final, despite winning neither the televote nor the jury vote, the band bring their song “Bur man laimi” (A chant for happiness) to the Eurovision stage in May.

How do you think Tautumeitas will fare on the Basel stage? Could they extend Latvia’s qualification streak? Let us know!
