Immediately after the final, the next morning saw the annual winners’ conference, in which Olly announced that he hadn’t yet thought about going to Eurovision for Italy. And after about a week of debating, he officially turned the offer down, the first time the Sanremo winner has said no to Eurovision since Stadio in 2016.

As per standard, the position was then offered to Lucio Corsi in second place, which he accepted.

Therefore, Italy officially has a Eurovision 2025 entry! Lucio Corsi will represent the Mediterranean nation in Basel with ‘Volevo essere un duro‘.
