After winning Depi Evratesil 2025, PARG will represent Armenia in Eurovision 2025. In this article, we look at his career up to now and learn more about him, so let’s dive in!
Early Career and Studies
PARG was born Pargev Vardanyan in the village of Hayravank in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia to Armenian parents. His love for music first blossomed when he was 6 years old when he began singing in his local church choir.
When he was young, PARG and his parents moved to the city of Volgograd in South West Russia where he spent most of his primary and high school education. In an interview with h-pem, PARG revealed that he used to rap under the name MC Flight between the ages of 13-15. He was also a member of a band called Wild Kids while he was at university. His years of studying enabled him to develop his creative expressions and inspire him. He studied at the Volgograd State Institute of Theater and Cinema and despite graduating with a degree in Theater Arts & Acting, music was his dream.
Region Chronicles
He first began to find his voice when he became the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band ‘Region Chronicles’ which he co-founded in Volgograd. The band achieved some success and they embarked on tours across Russia, Armenia and neighbouring countries Ukraine and Georgia. After a couple of years, he decided to go it alone and pursue his music career as a solo artist.
Solo Career
PARG released his debut single back in late 2020 ‘Sareri Hovin Mernem’ and from then he focused on releasing music in his native Armenian, all while learning how to play the guitar and banjo. His musical inspirations range from Hozier to Stromae. In an interview with the Armenian Mirror/Spectator, he expressed his feelings about why he began to use Armenian instruments and sing in the language within his music.
βI think the further I was from Armenia, the more I craved that connection to my heritage. I started reading Armenian poetry and was inspired by the depth of emotion and beauty in the language. Even though I was naturally fluent in Russian, there was something about singing in Armenian that resonated with me on a deeper level. So I began blending Armenian poetry with modern beats and harmonies, creating something new out of the old.β
This was further enhanced when he moved back to Armenia in 2022 where he was even more determined to feature Armenian elements combined with his signature modern sound developing his craft further. His breakthrough as a solo artist came not long after as he was the opening act for the famous French singer Zaz during her concert in Armenia. The year after, his song ‘Araj’ was nominated for Best Music Video at the Armenian Music Video Awards and last year, he collaborated with Armenian Eurovision singer Brunette with their song ‘Arev Es’ which has over 400,000 views on YouTube to date.
Depi Evratesil 2025
Armenia announced that for the first time since 2020, they would be deciding their Eurovision representative through a national final. It was revealed that PARG was one of the 12 acts that were in the running to represent the country with his pop rock song ‘Survivor’. Despite opening the show, PARG won the hearts of the Armenian televoters and finished in 2nd place with the national and international juries earning him the right to represent his country at Eurovision!

Armenia is scheduled to perform in the first half of the second semi-final on the 15th of May. Despite not winning the contest, the nation has had success in Eurovision, especially recently after the viral success of ‘SNAP‘ by Rosa Linn and qualifying for the final every year since 2022. Can PARG make it four finals in a row for Armenia?
We wish PARG and the Armenian delegation the best of luck for Eurovision!
