It’s official! Tommy Cash will represent Estonia at Eurovision 2025 with ‘Espresso Macchiato’, after winning Eesti Laul 2025.
Estonia currently have a 3 year qualification streak going, and Tommy will be hoping to make it their 4th time in a consecutive final.
Let’s find out more about him!
Who Is Tommy Cash?
Tomas Tammemets is a singer born in Tallinn on November 18th 1991. He’s half Russian and half Ukrainian, often using post-soviet imagery and cartoons in his work to represent his heritage and upbringing. Tommy began singing for fun in his 20s, originally focusing on art – specifically graffiti and drawing – which he still includes in his career today.
Career So Far
Tommy started his music career by releasing tracks on Soundcloud and performing in small venues in Estonia in 2012, his first album ‘Euroz Dollaz Yeniz’ being released a year later. His breakthrough came in 2018, heading out on a world tour to support his second album ‘ ¥€$’.
He has collaborated with well-known names in the industry such as Little Big, Russia’s 2020 Eurovision artist, IC3PEAK, Joji, Young Gravy, bbno$ and with Charli XCX on her 2017 album Pop 2 and 2019 album Charli. He also appeared in her music video for ‘Boys’.
Eurovision fans may know Tommy outside of his participation as a feature on Käärijä’s (Finland 2023) album ‘People’s Champion’ on the song ‘It’s Crazy It’s Party’.
Eesti Laul 2025
ERR announced their contestants for Eesti Laul 2025 in November 2024, and amongst the 15 announced (prior to the wildcars) Tommy was the clear favourite even prior to his song being released that December. ‘Espresso Macchiato’ upon release shot to the top of the YouTube Trending and Estonian Spotify charts, and with help from his friends and former Eurovision contestants Käärijä and Joost (Netherlands 2024), all eyes were on Tommy to see if he could deliver a winning performance at Eesti Laul.
The jury had ‘Espresso Macchiato’ in first place, meaning Tommy went into the superfinal alongside An-Marlen and Andrei Zevakin ft Karita. Decided 100% by the televote, ‘Espresso Macchiato’ stormed the superfinal with 83% of the televote share – making Tommy the winner, who, staying true to his artists character, reacted in a nonchalant way. In official figures released by ERR after the show, Tommy received 41,414 total votes in the superfinal – 37,000 votes clear of Andrei Zevakin ft Karita in 2nd.
Eurovision 2025
At Eurovision 2025, Estonia will perform in the first half of Semi Final 1 on May 13th 2025. Tommy is so confident that ‘Espresso Macchiato’ will be successful, at the time of writing his music video for the song features (Eurovision 2025 winner) in the title!
We wish Tommy & Estonia the best of luck in Basel!
