Friday 14th February will see Poland select their representative for Eurovision 2025. Having failed to qualify last year with ‘The Tower’ by Luna, Poland will undoubtedly be hoping for a better result in Basel this year.

For the first time since 2023, TVP will be selecting their entrant through the national final format, this time using the contest Wielki FinaÅ‚ Polskich Kwalifikacji 2025 (Grand Final of the Polish Qualifications 2025). Having encountered some controversy in 2023 and 2024 for the decisions made by their jurors, the winner of the competition will be decided by 100% televote with a backup jury only determining the results should an issue arise with voting. Given the Eurovision semi-finals are also 100% televote, could this be a good move for Poland this year? We’ll have to wait to find out.

Eleven artists will be competing, including one wildcard act which was announced last week. Read on to learn all about them!

CHRUST – Tempo

CHRUST are a folk trio from GdaÅ„sk, consisting of Gosia Oleszczuk, Karol Konop, and Dariusz ‘Darek’ Mrozek. They have been making music since 2021 and released their self-titled debut album in 2022. They combine elements of traditional Polish and Slavic music with the influence of rock musicians such as Tool and Nine Inch Nails, as well as electro acts like Justice and Deadmau5.

The band will be opening the show with their song ‘Tempo’ which the band have been working on for over a year. The lyrics were written while Darek was working long nights alone as a border guard and felt, according to an interview with Eurovision and Friends, “immersed in a feeling of confusion and doubt about his life choices, but also about existential questions”. After watching Eurovision 2024 together between concerts, the group joined forces with composer Krzysztof Falkowski to create music for the song. Will they create a lasting first impression? You can listen to ‘Tempo’ below:

KUBA – Pray

KUBA is the stage name of 22-year-old Kuba Szmajkowski who first shot to fame in 2018 when he became a finalist on The Voice Kids. In that same year, he became a member of the boy band 4Dreamers with whom he released the studio albums ‘4Dreamers’ and ‘nb.’ He has previously attempted to represent Poland in Eurovision in 2022 and 2023, taking part in their national finals with the songs ‘Lovesick’ and ‘You Do Me’ which placed fourth and eighth respectively.

Hoping to be third time lucky, KUBA is back with the song ‘Pray’. The singer has openly stated that it is his dream to represent Poland at Eurovision so will this be the year his prayers are answered? You can listen to the song below:

Justyna Steczkowska – Gaja

Easily the most recognisable participant this year is 52-year-old Justyna Steczkowska who has enjoyed an illustrious music and television career. Since starting her singing career in the 90s, Justyna has racked up millions of streams online, placed as a runner-up on Dancing With the Stars and has appeared as a mentor on The Voice of Poland. However, Justyna will be most recognisable to eurofans both as a participant in 1995 with the song ‘Sama’ (‘Alone’) and for her attempts to represent Poland last year, when her prospective entry ‘Witch-er Tarohoro’ placed second in the selection process and became a fan favourite.

Ready to represent Poland for a second time, Justyna will be competing with the song ‘Gaja’. Named after the personification of Earth in Greek mythology, the song has already undergone a revamp in the run-up to the contest and also includes a reference to ‘Witch-er Tarohoro’. Will we be seeing her on a Eurovision stage again? You can listen to ‘Gaja’ below:

TYNSKY – Miracle

TYNSKY is the stage name of 21-year-old Tomasz KamiÅ„ski, who made a promising start to his career in 2021 which led to him supporting the well-known band Simply Red. In 2022, he released his debut EP ‘See What’s On My Mind’. Since 2024, he has been developing his career by working in studios in Los Angeles, Berlin and London. He also released his second EP ‘It’s All About the Changes’ in that same year.

TYNSKY will be performing the song ‘Miracle’. Can this young, upcoming musician be the one to win it all? You can listen to his song below:

Daria Marx – Let It Burn

Daria Marx is the stage name of 29-year-old Daria Marcinkowska who first became known to Polish audiences in 2019 when she participated in The Voice of Poland before being eliminated in the battle rounds. In 2021, she released her debut single ‘Love Blind’ which reached the top 5 in the Polish music charts. She attempted to represent Poland at Eurovision in 2022, participating in their national final with the song ‘Paranoia’ which came second to ‘River’ by Krystian Ochman.

Hoping for a second chance of success, Daria will be performing the song ‘Let It Burn’. Unlike ‘Paranoia’, the song is a ballad, showcasing her vocals and a different side to the singer who is normally known for performing pop songs. Can she be successful? You can listen to her song below:

Sw@da & Niczos – Lusterka

Sw@da (Wiktor SzczygieÅ‚) and Niczos (Nika Jurczuk) are an electronic folk duo who first met around 2020 at a music festival they were performing in. They released ‘Trava Murava’, their first single together, in 2023 and released their debut album ‘#INDAWOODS’ in late 2024.

Their entry ‘Lusterka’ (‘Mirror’) is a track from their debut album which they did not make with Eurovision in mind but which they have subsequently revamped ahead of the competition. The song is written in the Podlachian language, an East Slavic literary microlanguage based on the dialects spoken by inhabitants of the southern part of the Podlachian Province. The pair say they are trying to bring awareness to this dwindling language by using it in their music, and regardless of the result they will certainly be successful as this is the first instance of the Podlachian language being used in a national selection. Justyna might be far and away the favourite to win this selection but if Albania have shown us anything this year, it’s that an electronic folk duo could unseat a popular artist. Will Sw@da and Niczos manage it too? You can listen to ‘Lusterka’ below:

Janusz Radek – In Cosmic Mist

56-year-old Janusz Radek is an actor and singer who has performed in numerous recitals and musical theatre productions. His prolific career has seen him compose songs based on the works of famous poets, perform in punk bands and even compose music for the Polish dub of Pokémon! Janusz also attempted to represent Poland at Eurovision back in 2004, placing fifth in their national final with the song ‘Pocztówka z Avignonu’ (‘Postcard From Avignon’).

Over 20 years later, Janusz is back with the song ‘In Cosmic Mist’. The piano ballad was composed entirely by Janusz himself and builds to a crescendo which could create a real moment onstage. Will it be competitive? You can listen to the song below:

Marien – Can’t Hide

19-year-old Marien (real name Maria Nieszpaur) learned to play the violin and piano as a child and also took singing lessons from an early age. She received recognition in 2022 when her songs ‘Nothing to Loose’ and ‘Trouble Maker’ were featured on the film ‘365 dni: Ten dzieÅ„’ (‘365 Days: This Day’). In that same year, she also took part in the National Festival of Polish Song with the song ‘Sama’ which went on to place in the top 20 of the Polish music charts and has garnered over 1 million streams on Spotify at the time of writing.

Marien will be making her national final debut with the song ‘Can’t Hide’. This mid-tempo song deals with a relationship that has lost its spark. Will it stand out onstage? You can listen to the song below:

Teo – Immortal

At just 18-years-old, Teo Tomczuk is the youngest participant in this year’s national selection and also found out he would be competing later than the other contestants. The Polish-Norwegian singer and actor was selected as a wildcard entry on 3rd February! However, despite being young, Teo has already racked up an impressive career, gaining recognition in Norway for his role as Mathias in the teen drama ‘Rykter’ (‘Rumours’) and in 2024, he became a finalist in the Polish edition of the Got Talent series.

Teo will be performing the piano ballad ‘Immortal’. Having been invited to the national final later than the other contestants, will he prove to stand head and shoulders above the rest? You can listen to the song below:

Sonia Maselik – Rumours

Sonia Maselik is a singer-songwriter and composer who first started releasing music in 2015. She gained recognition in 2020 with the radio hit ‘Nie mów nic nikomu’ (‘Don’t Say Anything to Anyone’). She has performed in a number of talent shows, winning RMF FM’s competition Twoje 5 minut (Your 5 Minutes) and was a finalist on Szansa na Sukces (‘Chance for Success’) in 2021.

Having dreamed of participating in Eurovision since 2010, Sonia is now finally taking the plunge with her song ‘Rumours’. In an interview with ESC United, Sonia explained that “Eurovision is another opportunity for me to give the joy I have when I sing.” Will she also experience the joy of representing her country at Basel? You can listen to ‘Rumours’ below:

Dominik Dudek – Hold the Light

Closing the show is 31-year-old Dominik Dudek who shot to fame in 2022 when he won The Voice of Poland, signing a contract with Universal Music Polska as part of his prize. In 2023, Dominik took part in Poland’s national final, placing third with the song ‘Be Good’ and releasing his debut EP ‘Ja Å›niÄ™’ (‘I’m Dreaming’) in May of that same year.

Hoping for a second chance to represent Poland at Eurovision, Dominik is back with the song ‘Hold the Light’ which he wrote alongside Tom Oehler and TEYA, one half of Austria‘s 2023 entry ‘Who the Hell is Edgar?’ Will we be seeing Dominik in Basel this time? You can listen to his song below:
