Belgium have returned to a national final format in 2025, with eight artists set to take to the stage in the hopes of winning Eurosong 2025 and representing their country at Eurovision!
Here’s all you need to know about all of this years entries.
Grace – ‘Pull Up’
Grace is a 22 year old musician born in Amsterdam but raised in Belgium. Her big break came in 2021 when she entered and won The Voice of Flanders, leading to the release of her debut single ‘Freedom’. Grace’s music blends Afrobeats with other genres to create a discography celebrating her Congolese roots and upbringing in Belgium. According to her Spotify, she wants to focus on spreading positivity and inspiration through her songs.
Her entry for Eurosong 2025 is an energetic, upbeat track called ‘Pull Up’. The song is about standing up for yourself and uses phrases in Lingala to honour her Congolese heritage. In her showcase, Grace proved that she has the vocal power to deliver this song despite all the choreography included. As it hits the stage in Vilvoorde, we can expect an elevated and polished performance that could see Grace flying to Basel this May. You can hear her song below!
Stefanie Callebaut – ‘Gloria’
Stefanie Callebaut is the vocalist and keyboardist player in indie, avant-garde pop group SX, but is going it alone for Eurosong 2025. SX was founded by Stefanie and Benjamin Desmet in Kortrijk in 2009, also consisting of Sebastian Van den Branden and Christophe Claeys. They’ve released four albums, with ‘Graffiti’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Black Video’ amongst their most popular songs.
‘Gloria’, Stefanie’s Eurosong 2025 entry, is written by herself and Jeroen Swinnen. She describes the song as a celebration of love & light, and says those who have heard it often describe it as a ’contemporary Bohemian Rhapsody’. It requires some powerhouse vocals and relies heavily on Stephanie’s stage presence to sell it to viewers at home. Whilst it isn’t one of the favourites, we can’t count anything out – she herself has stated that unique songs are starting to do well in Eurovision, and thinks ‘Gloria’ could make a big impression in Basel. LEEZ – ‘Perfectly Imperfect’
Lisa van Rossen – professionally known as LEEZ – rose to fame in 2016 after entering The Voice van Vlaanderen. She frequently works on her music alongside her brother, pop singer Meetejor. Her most popular singles include ‘Who Will Be There (it’s me)’ and ‘Toxic Lullaby’.
’Perfectly Imperfect’ is her Eurosong entry – she describes it as a song celebrating self-acceptance, and how you shouldn’t want to change the person you’re in a relationship with. Despite the song being vocally demanding, Leez proved in her showcase performance that she can pull it off with ease – which could win her support from viewers at home. You can hear her entry below!
Lenn – Air Balloon
25-year-old Lenn is pretty new to the music scene and has been working on making singing his full time career since graduating in 2024. No stranger to the industry, he’s the grandson of Louis Neefs – who represented Belgium in Eurovision 1967 and 1969, and son of famous Belgian singer Günther Neefs. His first single is ‘Air Balloon’, which also happens to be his entry for Eurosong 2025. He wrote the song whilst going through a difficult time, and it wasn’t initially created with Eurovision in mind. It’s all about seeing the positives, and realising that no matter how dark things can be, the sun will rise again, with his showcase displaying his rich vocals and charming stage presence. You can hear his song below!
Le Manou – ‘Fille à Papa’
DJ and singer Le Manou is from Durbuy – one of the smallest cities in Belgium – and is a multilingual artist who blends dance music with pop and the French language. She has released two EP’s so far – 2021’s ‘La femme’ and 2023’s ‘Zone 30’.
’Fille à Papa’ became one of the favourites to win Eurosong 2025 after an impressive showcase performance. The song perfectly encapsulates Le Manou’s musical style, and despite a plethora of upbeat entries this year, it stands out from the crowd. VRT describe it as an “ironic nod to all the nepo babies in the world”, but also gives respect to them for what they’ve achieved on their own too. You can hear her song below!
Jelle Van Dael – ‘Monster’
Jelle Van Dael found fame in 2008 on the TV Show Let’s Go Lasgo – a talent contest looking for the next singer of the Belgian dance band Lasgo. Jelle won, and her first single with the band ‘Out Of My Mind’ was released that September. In 2010 she competed in the dance show Sterren op de Dansvloer, placing 6th. After Lasgo released their final song in 2013, she began working as a presenter on TV before starting her solo career a year later – releasing her debut single ‘Lie Machine’. After releasing a string of singles and collaborations, Jelle recently reached the semi-finals in Sing Again – a competition allowing singers who had competed on talent shows hosted by broadcaster VTM in the last 35 years to compete for another chance.
That chance now may come in the form of Eurovision – Jelle is competing in Eurosng with ‘Monster‘, and hopes it will give the audience a chance to get to know her better as an artist. The song is about fighting back and facing your inner demons. It takes a step away from the dance-pop she initially began her career with, and shows a different side to her music. You can hear her song below!
Mentissa – ‘Désolée’
24-year-old Mentissa Aziza – known mononymously as Mentissa – was born in Ixelles and raised in Denderleeuw. She took an interest in singing at age 12, entering and winning The Voice Kids in 2014. In 2018 and 2019 she participated in The Voice Holland, reaching the knockout stages, and in 2021 came 4th in The Voice La Plus Belle Voix in France. After this, she signed to a record label and released her debut single ‘Et Bam‘ and album ‘La Vingtaine’. Her first tour followed in 2023 and she became a coach on The Voice Belgique a year later.
Her Eurosong entry is called ‘Désolée‘, and she sees it as a way to transition her music to a more pop sound. It’s a song all about self-confidence. Her showcase performances displayed her decade of experience of performing live, and as one of the contest’s most well-known faces taking part, she may be one to watch heading into the final. You can hear her song below!
Red Sebastian – ‘Strobe Lights’
Red Sebastian is the stage name of singer and music teacher Seppe Herreman, who found fame at age 14 as a contestant on Belgium’s Got Talent. He took a singing course at the Royal Conservatory Ghent, where he took lessons from Gustaph – who represented Belgium in Eurovision 2023. He released his first album You in 2021, and EP ‘Bedroom Secrets’ in 2023. Red Sebastian also took part in Sing Again 2024 beating Jelle Van Dael in the semi-final and placing in the top 4 during the Final.
Another one of this year’s favourites to head to Basel, ‘Strobe Lights’ is a huge EDM track that features some incredibly impressive vocals and, in its showcase, a lot of red strobe lighting. This is certainly a crowd-pleaser, and if Red Sebastian manages to pull this off in the final he may see himself representing Belgium in Switzerland in May. You can hear his song below!
Eurosong 2025 will be broadcast on VRT MAX & the Eurovision YouTube Channel on February 1st 2025.
