It’s time for the second heat of Lithuanian national final Eurovizija.LT! Eight artists will compete with two progressing to the grand final. These will be decided by a 50/50 split between jury and televote. Unfortunately, Austėja Lukaitė will not be performing her entry ‘Kas esu be tavęs?’ (‘Who Am I Without You?’) in this heat due to being sick with the flu on the day of recording. As the competition is now underway, no act will replace her, meaning eight acts will perform instead of the usual nine.

Last week, Anyanya and Justė Baradulinaitė came one step closer to representing Lithuania at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. Let’s meet the artists hoping to join them this weekend!

Halummi – The Flame

Halummi are a group from both Barcelona and Vilnius, consisting of members Jonas Lapinas, Kotryna Zaskevičiūtė and Pablo Lago. They describe themselves as “not merely a band but a sonic voyage into the unknown” and combine guitars, synth and electronic beats with trip-hop and R&B influences. They are a relatively new group, releasing their debut single ‘Fuel’ in July 2024.

The band will be opening the second heat with their song ‘The Flame’ which sees their alternative R&B sound combine with driving drums and piano beats. It’s sure to kick the show off with a bang but can it get the votes? You can listen to the song below:

Noy – Just Take Me on a Date

Noy is the stage name of Nojus Žebrauskas. He first became known to Lithuanian audiences in 2019, when he competed in The Voice Kids. Two years later, he competed in X Faktorius at the tender age of 16. Noy then competed to represent Lithuania at Eurovision in 2023 with his song ‘Destiny’s Child’ which advanced to the semi-finals of Pabandom iš naujo! but unfortunately did not progress to the final.

Hoping to land a spot in this year’s final, Noy will be performing the song ‘Just Take Me on a Date’, a soulful R&B-inspired pop song which really showcases how much Noy’s voice has developed with time. Will he be land a spot in the final this time round? You can listen to the song below:

Jokūbas Jankauskas – Far Away

Jokūbas Jankauskas is a young rock and blues musician who first caught the attention of Lithuanian audiences in 2023 when he competed in The Voice. Since then, he has released a handful of singles and also tried his luck competing in X Faktorius.

Jokūbas will be attempting to represent Lithuania at Eurovision for the first time with his single ‘Far Away’ which uses an uplifting beat and message to showcase Jokūbas’s distinctive voice. Can he make it to the final? You can listen to his song below:

Petunija – Į saldumą

This will be the fourth time Petunija has competed in a Lithuanian national final: her first attempt was in 2016 with the song ‘Tomorrow’ and again in 2020 with ‘Show Ya’. However, eurofans will likely most remember Petunija’s 2023 entry ‘Love of my Life’, a heartbreaking piano ballad which placed fourth overall in Pabandom iš naujo!

Petunija is back with her first Lithuanian language entry ‘Į saldumą’ (‘To Sweetness’) which combines alternative pop and ethno elements to create something truly unforgettable. In an interview with broadcaster LRT, Petunija highlighted Marina Satti‘s ability to capture Greek culture on the Eurovision stage last year as something that really inspired her. Could she follow in Marina’s footsteps?

Freya Alley – Lalala

Freya Alley is the stage name of Kamilė Balčytytė, a London-based Lithuanian singer who competed in Eurovizija.LT last year with the song ‘Serenade’. Unfortunately, she did not progress past her heat to the grand final. She has since gone on to release the Lithuanian language singles ‘Medus’ (‘Honey’) and ‘Nieko kito’ (‘Nothing Else’).

Hoping for more success this year, Freya is back with the ambient pop song ‘Lalala’. As with her previous entry, the song was co-written alongside platinum-selling producer and songwriter Laurence Hobbs, who has worked with acts such as Sam Smith and Pixie Lott. You can listen to ‘Lalala’ below:

Káro – Love Bug

Káro is the stage name of Karolė Virbickaitė, who has released the 2022 singles ‘Take the Trash Out‘ and ‘Dance With the Devil’, along with ‘You Wanna Make Me Yours‘ in 2023 and ‘Sweet Tooth’ in 2024. She also competed in Eurovizija.LT last year with the song ‘Weightless’ which unfortunately did not progress further than its heat.

Not to be deterred, Káro is back again this year with the song ‘Love Bug’ which was co-written alongside songwriter and producer Peder Etholm Idsoe and, like her previous entry ‘Weightless’, has a pop rock sound. You can listen to it below:

Vilija – Liesti negalima

Making her seventh return to Lithuania’s national selection, Vilija Matačiūnaitė is best known for having represented Lithuania in Eurovision 2014 with her song ‘Attention’. Unfortunately, during her semi-final, Vilija had the misfortune of being placed between Conchita Wurst‘s ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ (that year’s winner) and Finland’s entry ‘Something Better’, which placed third in its semi and 11th in the grand final. ‘Attention’ placed 11th in its semi, meaning Lithuania just missed out on the chance to participate in the final. She last participated in Eurovizija.LT in 2024 with the song ‘Save Me’ which unfortunately did not progress to the final.

Vilija is back once again with the song ‘Liesti negalima’ (‘Don’t Touch’), a Lithuanian-language song with 80s style synth beats. Will it be lucky number seven for Vilija? You can listen to her song below:

Tomas Dirgėla – Pašok

35-year-old Tomas Dirgėla is likely to be well-known to Lithuanian audiences…but not as a singer! He is a children’s author, best-known for the ‘Domas ir Tomas’ book series and LRT radio show of the same name. However, this doesn’t mean Tomas has no musical experience. Speaking to LRT after his performance, Tomas explained that he and fellow writer Justinas Žilinskas have created a musical group for children called Children of Books and he has also created and acted in a musical aimed at children. According to his LRT interview, Tomas entered Eurovizija.LT because “I wanted to get out of my comfort zone – children’s literature – and try something new. My original goal was to get into the selection, I achieved it and I am very happy.”

Tomas will be closing the second heat with his dance song ‘Pašok’ (‘Jump Up’). Could we be seeing this writer on the stage in Basel soon?
