alyona alyona and Jerry Heil – Teresa and Maria
By far creating the most buzz ahead of tonight’s show is ‘Teresa and Maria’. Performed by 2020 and 2023 Vidbir participant Jerry Heil and renowned rapper alyona alyona has 2 million views on Suspilne‘s YouTube channel, nearly 1.4 million views on Spotify and a whopping 6.3 million views on alyona alyona’s YouTube channel at the time of writing. Some fans are convinced that the song not only has potential to win Vidbir but Eurovision overall! Although we haven’t seen what this will look like onstage yet, the duo have been doing live performances in the run-up to the show which really showcase what strong live performers the pair are. You can watch one of these below:
‘Will ‘Teresa and Maria’ be Ukraine’s Eurovision entry this year?
MÉLOVIN – Dreamer
Another act who can’t be discounted from a chance at the win is MÉLOVIN. The former Eurovision 2018 entrant has appeared in Vidbir twice, in 2017 and 2018, and has on both occasions won the televote. Therefore, it’s highly likely that ‘Dreamer’ will be a big hit with the Ukrainian viewing public. Once again, we’ll have to wait to see how ‘Dreamer’ will fare live but we know from his performance of ‘Under the Ladder’ that MÉLOVIN always brings a dramatic flare to his live shows. Can we expect the same tonight?
YAKTAK – Lalala
Another act that also has potential to be a big hit with televoters is YAKTAK. The young, up and coming performer released the music video for his entry ‘Lalala’ three weeks ago and in that time it has amassed 1.4 million views on YouTube. Can this 18-year-old and Muzvar award winner make a huge step in his burgeoning career and represent Ukraine at Eurovision? We’ll have to wait until tonight to find out.
YAGÓDY – Tsunamia
The final act that have made waves since Vidbir songs were released and have potential to do well tonight are theatre and folk music group YAGÓDY. Since the release of ‘Tsunamia’, fans have been loving its blend of modern pop and traditional Ukrainian folk music and it’s no secret that this kind of entry can do very well at both Vidbir and Eurovision. Additionally, the group being experienced theatre performers means they’re sure to bring an incredible live show tonight. We’ll have to wait until tonight to see what they bring.
